‘Don’t be left in the dark’: New 3-digit number launched to report power cuts

Manchester Withington MP Jeff Smith has backed the new ‘105’ service for reporting power cuts which launches today.

The new service will provide a direct line to the local electricity network operator – the company that manages the cables, wires and substations that bring electricity into homes and businesses in the area.

The service is completely free and available to everyone regardless of the electricity supplier.  It can also be used by people wishing to report damage to electricity power lines or substations that could put people in danger.

Jeff said: ‘It’s great that there is now a free, dedicated telephone service for reporting power cuts, making it easier for people to get help when they need it.

Make sure to save the number in case a power cut hits your area and don’t be left in the dark’.

You can find out more about the new service on their website www.powercut105.com.
