Manchester Withington MP Jeff Smith is supporting Reach Out to the Community, an initiative set up to offer help to people struggling with the most basic of needs: food and shelter.
Reach Out to the Community (ROC) was set up earlier this year to focus on rough sleepers in and around Chorlton, and local individuals or families living in food poverty. They focus particularly on vulnerable groups such as the elderly, and providing clothing, food parcels, and practical advice to the homeless.
Commenting on the project, Jeff said: ‘I’m pleased to support this great initiative to help some of the most vulnerable in our society. Whether it’s tracksuit bottoms that no longer fit or spare sleeping bags and tinned food, donations are welcome to help ROC reach more people in our community.’
Reach Out to the Community requires two types of donations to facilitate its work; provisions for care packages, and books to generate funds through sales. The full list of items they require can be found hereand the delivery address for drop-offs is:
