Manchester Withington MP Jeff Smith recently met two Withington residents taking part in a ‘STEM for Britain’ presentation in Parliament.
Kristina Small and Costanza Panaino, PhD students at the University of Manchester, were in Parliament to present their research, carried out in collaboration with the proton therapy teams at the Christie Hospital.
Following the meeting, Jeff said:
“It was fantastic to meet two very impressive women helping to advance cancer cures through their PhD research.
I am very pleased that Christie are working so closely with students such as Kristina and Costanza, who are conducting fascinating and ground breaking research and will no doubt make an important contribution to the field of cancer treatment.”
