Jeff Smith MP is encouraging constituents to support Ladybarn Park and Fletcher Moss Park in a UK-wide competition organised by green space charity, Fields in Trust.
The UK’s Best Park award gives the public the opportunity to vote for their favourite local green space, and this year both Fletcher Moss and Ladybarn Park in the Manchester Withington constituency have been longlisted. The top park in each of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will be shortlisted with the overall winner and UK’s Best Park 2019 announced at the conclusion of a Summer of Parks event in mid-September.
Speaking about the nominations, Jeff said:
“Parks are such an important resource to the local community and it is fantastic to see that two great parks in my constituency have been nominated for Best Park 2019.
I am very pleased to get behind this award and hope that my constituents get voting to give these parks the recognition they deserve.”
