Fletcher Moss Park has achieved “Much Loved” status in Fields in Trust’s Best Park 2019 award.

The award has been running over the summer months and park users nominated 364 parks and green spaces across the UK, including Fletcher Moss Park, before a public vote decided the winners.  Over 36,000 votes were cast by members of the public and Fletcher Moss Park placed within the top 20% of all nominations UK-wide.

Speaking about the competition, Jeff said:

“It is fantastic to hear that Fletcher Moss Park in my constituency has been awarded ‘much loved’ status by Fields in Trust.

Fletcher Moss plays an important role in the local community and I am pleased that it has been recognised in the Best Parks 2019 competition.

I want to congratulate the local ‘Friends of Fletcher Moss Park’ group who are active in maintaining and promoting the park all year round.”

The overall winner of UK’s Best Park 2019 will be announced at the conclusion of the Summer of Parks campaign on Thursday 12^th September.
