Members of the public are being asked to sign up as volunteers to help the NHS support vulnerable people during the coronavirus pandemic.
Anyone who is over the age of 18, fit and healthy and not experiencing coronavirus symptoms can volunteer.
NHS Volunteer Responders is not intended to replace local groups helping their vulnerable neighbours but is an additional service provided by the NHS.
The help required will include:
- picking up medicines from pharmacies to deliver to vulnerable people
- driving patients to appointments
- bringing patients home from hospitals
- making regular phone calls to check on people isolating at home
Some of these roles will require you to have a DBS check and access to transport.
You can find out more information and sign up here.
