Jeff Smith takes on new role in Labour’s Energy Security and Net Zero team

Jeff Smith MP has been appointed as the Shadow Minister for Clean Power and Consumers, as part of Labour’s Energy Security and Net Zero team.

Speaking about the appointment, Jeff said:

“I’m very pleased to be joining Labour’s energy security and net zero team.

I’ve enjoyed my time as Shadow Minister for Sport, Tourism, Heritage and Music, and I’ve been proud to oversee developments such as forming Labour’s response to the government’s White Paper on football governance and pushing for a support for the tourism industry as part of Britain’s economic recovery. I wish the newly formed Culture Media and Sports team well.

I’m looking forward to working with Ed Miliband to deliver Labour’s pledge for carbon free electricity by 2030, taking forward our homes retrofitting campaign, and pressing the government for action during the energy price crisis.”
