Maternity Action is the UK’s maternity rights charity dedicated to promoting, protecting and enhancing the rights of all pregnant women, new mothers and their families to employment, social security and health care.

Maternity Action is delivering a dedicated Maternity Rights Advice Service for the Greater Manchester and East Cheshire region providing specialist legal advice on maternity rights by phone and email.

The service provides free and confidential advice on work and money issues.  We can support women and families with cost of living concerns and issues which arise at work. Issues we can help with include:   

·         Calculating and getting maternity pay  

·         Checking benefits entitlements

·         Sick pay and holiday pay queries

·         Stress at work and dealing with redundancy

·         Safe working conditions in pregnancy

·         Agency workers and self-employed workers
