Housing
If you’re worried about someone you’ve seen sleeping rough, you can connect them with local services that can support them through StreetLink. If you’re at risk of sleeping rough, you could get a place to stay in a hostel, night shelter, refuge or bed and breakfast if you’re homeless.
If you think you might lose your home, get in touch with us quickly. The sooner you contact us, the more likely we are to find a way to help you keep your home.
You can also get help from Shelter if you’re worried about housing.

Usual Southway services will be closed for the Christmas/New Year break.

Great Places
Their offices will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period from Tuesday, 24 December 2024 from 12 noon until 8am Thursday, 2 January 2025.
During this time they will be operating an Emergency Only Service.
If your repair falls into the emergency category you can call them on the local rate number 0300 123 1966.
You can also email emergencies to emergencyrepairs@orbisprotect.com who work on their behalf, they usually respond to emails within 30 minutes.

Johnnie Johnson Housing
Their emergency repair team is the quickest way to get in touch is by calling their Customer Experience Team on 0345 305 5335.
MSV Housing
MSV’s Service centre closes at 12 noon on Christmas Eve (24th Dec 2024) and reopens Thursday 2nd Jan 2025 at 08:30am.

Jigsaw
Please note, from Tuesday 12.30pm 24 December 2024 (Christmas Eve) and during the festive period, they will be providing restricted services, including an Emergency Repairs service.
Normal services will resume from Thursday 02 January 2025.
If you need to report an EMERGENCY repair during this time, please call 0800 234 6826.
You can report non-urgent repairs, pay rent and access other services on their website or by using ‘My.Jigsaw’, their online services available 24/7. If you haven’t already registered, it’s quick and easy to do!

If you’re a Manchester resident and you’ve found that increases in food and energy bills mean you’re really struggling financially, help is available. Call 0800 023 2692 from 9am to 4.30pm on 27, 30 and 31 December for support during the festive period.
Bin Collections over Christmas and the New Year
During the weeks including the dates 25 December and 1 January, the days when your bins are emptied may change due to how bank holidays fall:
No change to collections on Monday 23 December and Monday 30 December
No change to collections on Tuesday 24 December and Tuesday 31 December
Wednesday collections move to Friday 27 December and Thursday 2 January
Thursday collections move to Saturday 28 December and Friday 3 January
Friday collections move to Sunday 29 December and Saturday 4 January
