Useful Contacts over Christmas and New Year 2025

Local

Chorlton and Didsbury Foodbank

Open as normal during the Christmas period. Only exception:

 Friday 26th December: CLOSED

Housing

If you’re worried about someone you’ve seen sleeping rough, you can connect them with local services that can support them through StreetLink. If you’re at risk of sleeping rough, you could get a place to stay in a hostel, night shelter, refuge or bed and breakfast if you’re homeless.

If you think you might lose your home, get in touch with them quickly. The sooner you contact them, the more likely they are to find a way to help you keep your home.

You can also get help from Shelter if you’re worried about housing.

Southway Housing

Regular Southway services will be closed between Christmas and New Year. Customer Hub phonelines and the Customer Reception at their Southern Gate office will close at 12.30pm on Wednesday 24 December.

The Hub phonelines will reopen to take your calls and messages at 8am on Friday 2nd January. The Customer Reception at their Southern Gate office will reopen at 9am on that day.

They will be operating an out of hours service over the Christmas and New Year period, for emergency repairs only. If you need to book an emergency repair, please call them on 0161 448 4200.

You can find out more about their Emergency Repairs Service here.

Great Places

Their offices will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period from 2pm on Wednesday, 24 December 2025 until 8am Monday, 5 January 2026.

During this time, they will be operating an Emergency Only Service.

If your repair falls into the emergency category you can call them on 0300 123 1966.

Your Housing Group

If your repair falls into the emergency category you can call them on 0345 345 0272.
