FAQs: Enquires regarding Palestinian constituent cases

We’re receiving a number of enquiries about constituents and their families who are in currently in Palestine. These constituents are often already in contact with Jeff’s office, and we are receiving a number of enquiries from others who would like to know what actions Jeff is taking on these cases.

Cases between a Member of Parliament and their constituents are strictly confidential. This means that the office is unable to provide details to general enquiries made about individual cases.

However, we understand that these cases trigger significant public interest and understand the widespread concern for individuals’ safety. All of these cases are high priority and are dealt with urgently. Jeff is raising a number of cases with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Israeli embassy in London for urgent action. This is an ongoing process, and caseworkers are in regular contact with all constituents who have raised cases with Jeff.

There is a general support guide for those in Palestine they can look at in the first instance here; Israel and Gaza: Urgent help – JEFF SMITH MP
