Jeff Smith and local councillors have written to the owners of Mauldeth House demanding action to be taken on the site.

Jeff Smith says: “I visited Mauldeth House at the weekend, alongside Chorlton Park councillors and the Exec Member for Housing. The site is a increasing blight on the area and a spot for squatters and vandalism, and the Labour team are concerned that no progress has been made redeveloping the site

Despite representations from other developers, the owners have been unwilling to sell.

We have written to Metropolitan Properties to push them to co-operate. The community are desperate for this site to be used for a better purpose and we hope the owners will listen.”
